What the BYD Battery Box includes

A proven battery paired with Australia's most trusted inverter

The BYD Battery Box is a battery-only system, which means it works alongside a compatible hybrid inverter rather than including one of its own. Paired with the Fronius Gen24, it creates a DC-coupled system that charges directly from your solar panels before any energy conversion losses occur. If you already have a Fronius Gen24 installed, adding BYD storage is the most straightforward and cost-effective retrofit path available.

High-voltage LFP battery modules

Cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate modules in 2.56kWh increments, stackable from 5.1kWh up to 22.1kWh per tower. Multiple towers can be connected in parallel for larger capacity installations.

DC-coupled efficiency

As a DC-coupled system, the BYD Battery Box charges directly from your solar panels before conversion to AC. This reduces energy losses compared to AC-coupled systems and maximises the amount of solar generation you actually store.

Fronius Gen24 native integration

The Fronius Gen24 hybrid inverter manages all charging, discharging and energy management for the BYD battery. The combination is one of the most established and field-proven solar and battery pairings available in Australia.

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The BYD Battery Box is eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which provides an upfront discount on the installed cost. The rebate applies to both new solar and battery installs and to retrofits on existing solar systems that do not yet have storage.
