What the GoodWe ESA includes

Solar inverter and battery storage in a single pre-wired unit

The GoodWe ESA integrates the hybrid inverter and battery storage into a single pre-wired cabinet. This simplifies installation, reduces the wall space required and gives you one system to monitor and manage. It delivers the core capabilities most Townsville households need: store your solar, use it at night, and keep the lights on when the grid goes down.

Hybrid solar inverter

10kW hybrid inverter with 4 x MPPT inputs. Rated just below the 10kW residential approval threshold, which simplifies grid connection approval without sacrificing output.

Modular LFP battery storage

Stackable 8.3kWh lithium iron phosphate modules scalable from 16kWh up to 48kWh per stack. Add modules as your energy needs grow without replacing any existing equipment.

63A whole-home backup

Built-in 63A automatic transfer switch provides whole-home backup. When the grid goes down, the system switches over in under 10 milliseconds with no disruption to connected appliances.

1C charge and discharge rate

The ESA can fully charge or discharge its capacity within one hour. In Townsville where both peak solar generation and peak evening demand can be significant, this responsiveness matters.

Fanless design

No cooling fans means no moving parts to fail and no operational noise. The system runs silently and requires minimal maintenance over its service life.

Fanless design means the system operates at under 30dB, quieter than a library. No moving parts, no operational noise, no maintenance on cooling components.

Under 10ms backup switchover

Switches to backup power in under 10 milliseconds during a grid outage. Sensitive equipment including computers, medical devices and security systems stay running without interruption.

Who the GoodWe ESA suits

A strong all-rounder at a competitive price point

The GoodWe ESA delivers the core functionality most Townsville homeowners are looking for in a battery system: store your solar surplus, use it in the evening, and keep the home running during a grid outage. It does all of this in a single pre-wired cabinet that takes up less wall space than a separate inverter and battery setup.

It does not include EV charging capability. If built-in DC EV charging with V2H capability is a priority, the Sigenergy SigenStor is the system to consider. If your goal is reliable whole-home energy storage and backup at a strong price point, the GoodWe ESA is a compelling option.

Best for: new solar and battery installs

The ESA includes its own hybrid inverter, so it is well suited to a full new installation where you are starting fresh with solar and storage together.

Best for: retrofitting to an existing system

The ESA can also be AC coupled to most existing solar systems without replacing your current inverter. If you already have solar and want to add storage, ask us whether AC coupling is the right approach for your setup.

Best for: GoodWe inverter owners

If you already have a GoodWe ET or BT series hybrid inverter, the ESA integrates natively with your existing setup as a DC-coupled battery addition.

Federal rebate

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The GoodWe ESA is eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which provides an upfront discount on the installed cost. The rebate applies to both new solar and battery installs and to retrofits on existing solar systems that do not yet have storage.

The exact rebate value depends on battery size and adjusts periodically. We apply it directly to every quote so you can see your actual cost upfront.
